TWINALIZE Tags: All about tags

Tags are a powerful tool in IT asset management, allowing you to easily organize, search, and group assets based on specific criteria. They simplify tracking and documentation, making it faster to locate assets and maintain a clear overview of your IT landscape.

In this guide, we’ll show you how to create, edit, and effectively use tags.

1. Adding a tag to an asset

To start using tags, you’ll need to create relevant tags and assign them to your assets.

You can add tags when creating a new asset. If you want to add a tag to an existing asset, click the edit icon within the asset, scroll to the "Tags" section, and click on it.

2. Selecting a tag

From the list, choose a suitable tag by clicking on it, which will automatically add it to the current asset.

If the tag doesn’t exist yet or you want to create a new one, simply click the field at the top to enter a new tag name.

When you've finished adding the necessary tags, click "Done" in the upper-right corner.

3. Creating a new tag

To create a new tag, type the tag name (minimum of 3 characters) into the top field and press "Enter." A pop-up will appear, allowing you to customize the tag with a color.

Choose a pre-defined color or select a new one using the color palette.

4. Managing and using tags

Once you've assigned tags to your assets, you can use them to filter and categorize.

For example, if you’ve tagged assets with a specific function, you can quickly generate a list of all assets with that tag by clicking on it. This makes it easy to get a comprehensive overview of assets with specific attributes.
